How we tell stories is just as important as the stories we tell.

Our Process

People > Projects

We’ve helped shape branded documentaries in the outdoor industry, built national campaigns alongside clients who became friends, and worked in over 30 countries.

We always prioritize relationships, conversation, and asking big questions

We carry heart and honesty into every job, be it commercial or branded films. We seek real and authentic moments that break through the clutter of hired talent and artificial sets.

Beyond the superficial

Thriving outside

We intentionally design processes around crew and equipment that thrives outside in often hard to reach places. We can carry an entire Netflix-quality production package in backpacks for miles, work with a crew who don’t mind five days off grid, and our entire editing workflow can be accessed remotely across multiple locations.

A lasting impression

We work with talented creative partners to produce films that have lasting impact and spark change - that make you feel hopeful, ask questions, or walk away with a tear in your eye wondering “How on Earth did that tourism spot just make me cry??”

Our stories often speak to social justice, equity, and diversity- that is something we will always champion.

Development

We treat each job on a relationship-first basis because everyone involved is important to its success. We like to integrate with internal creative teams to build concepts together and make sure everyone is aligned from step one. We focus on presenting multiple creative options alongside casting, writing, shot lists, storyboards, and building a diverse and inclusive crew. For documentaries, that means spending time looking for real people and putting in the work up front to connect and build trust.

Production

Over 15 years of on set experience gives us the technical expertise required to produce captivating visuals while staying focused on the story. Our background in moving through challenging terrain enables us to access unique locations and provide safe environments for anyone involved. While our crew size is flexible, our immediate team can provide full production support including commercial photography to help broaden deliverables.

Post

Our expertise is in weaving complex story arcs that connect to audiences. In-house editing ensures we hit targeted deadlines for creative partners to review edits, trailers, and cut downs. Remote access to all of our media allows for easy file sharing with collaborators for professional sound design and color correction.

Our Mantra

Wondercamp is the belief that it’s better to stay curious than judgmental, and it’s better to go together than alone.

The Team

Our Story

We were just kids with cameras. We shot music videos in our bedrooms and backyards, cruised plazas and parks to film skate videos, and made an infamous superhero film called Adventures of Alligator Boy. Tim and Davis met in high school, swapping book reports for videos and converting VHS tapes to DVDSs to afford more camera gear. Greg and Tim were randomly paired to be freshmen roommates in college and started testing DIY lighting modifiers made from cutting boards and bundt cake molds, proving you can start with anything. After a few years traveling the world making films to support non-profits and taking long hikes around New Zealand, Iceland and more, they all ended up in Seattle — and Wondercamp was born.

Wondercamp is special because it’s so much more than a production company to us. It’s a way to build friendships, create change, to make us feel. It’s a mantra, a painting on Tim’s living room wall, a hashtag for a brief moment in time, and a reminder to spend time outside and watch the stars every now in then.

All to say, we’ve been making films for awhile and we’d like to keep it up. 💛

Davis Goslin

(Executive Producer — Team Manager — Co-Founder

Davis is the smiley face of Wondercamp and gets the award for “Person You’ll Most Likely Call When You Have A Flat Tire.” He started his career as the classic 90’s AV kid that would help the teacher with the projector, but quickly turned himself into a Swiss army man of business, logistics, accounting, scheduling, and all things film production. If he’s not on a bike, he’s probably thinking about how things can be a little more efficient, or as he says, “dialed.”

Tim Kressin

Creative Director — Co-Founder

Tim loves asking hard questions and eating good tacos. After giving up his dream to be a rollercoaster tycoon, Tim decided to take people on emotional rollercoasters through storytelling. He’s got a keen eye for detail on set while he looks for each beat to the story. He enjoys long days focused on putting the story together in the editing bay. Approaching nearly two decades of making films has Tim feeling like he’s just getting started.

Greg Balkin

DP — Producer

Strangers know Greg for his beard, but most people aren’t strangers to Greg for long. He’s got a reputation for meeting up with friends in whatever city or country he’s in at the moment. He’s a cinematographer who knows and cares deeply about how each shot tells the larger story. He’s carried a camera into rushing rivers and up 14,000ft peaks, but his short short summer thighs are still too dangerous for the public.

Katie Graham

Producer

Katie is a Type-A Libra, all-around sweetie, and quite possibly your next favorite producer. She’s known for her trouble-free sets and graceful problem solving behind the scenes that creates work environments that people love and enjoy. Usually the first one to cry watching an edit, Katie loves the way that film builds understanding and connects people, places, and ideas.

Makenna Wall

Assistant Editor

A big thumbs up is what you’ll most likely receive from Makenna any time you chat with her. Whether it’s about a weekend backpacking trip or finding the story within hours of interviews, Makenna is up to the challenge. When she’s not crushing it in the editing bay, she is either outside or taking care of her cat Cheerio, proving that any dog lover can have a change of heart.
